Museveni appoints new RDCs and Deputies

President Yoweri Museveni has formally announced the appointment of new Resident District/City Commissioners, Deputies, and Commissioners at the RDC Secretariat whilst reshuffling old ones. The President made the announcement via his official X/Twitter page.

“In exercise of the powers conferred upon the President of the Republic of Uganda by Articles 99 and 203 of the 1995 Constitution (as amended); I hereby appoint the following persons as Resident District/City Commissioners, Deputies, and Commissioners at the RDC Secretariat,” the president stated in a message shared on X on Monday afternoon.

According to the released  lists, 163 deputies have been appointed to assist the appointed 146 RDCs. Ten Regional Commissioners are also present: Maj. Martha Asimwe leads the RDC secretariat; Sr. Grace Akiror serves as deputy head.

Collins Gertrude Obedi represents West Nile; Fredrick Mbagadi Nkayi represents Kampala Metropolitan; Fred Bamwine represents Karamoja; Col. Oguli Damuzungu represents Eastern; Lt. Col. James Mwesigye represents Western; Dr. James Tweheyo represents Rwenzori; and Alice Akello Opio represents Northern Uganda in some of the names released.
